Ottawa, Canada, March 5, 2026 – Today at Carbon Removal Day in Ottawa, Carbon Removal Canada and the Government of Canada announced the launch of the Advance Carbon Removal Coalition. This strategic coalition brings governments, financial institutions, and leading companies, intent on mobilizing $100 million in demand for Canadian-developed carbon removal projects by 2030.

While Canada possesses world class geology and clean energy resources, the sector has faced significant challenges scaling between pilot projects and commercial facilities. The Advance Carbon Removal Coalition is designed to bridge this gap by aggregating purchase commitments and investments, sending a clear signal to global markets that Canada is a premier destination for carbon removal investment.

The Advance Carbon Removal Coalition is an initiative of Carbon Removal Canada, with founding members including the Government of Canada, RBC, BMO, NorthX, Shopify, Vancity, and ClimeFi.
